Do you ever wish that you were a little bit more successful than you are right now? Or perhaps even a lot more?
I’m talking about any kind of success. Perhaps a feeling of accomplishment, an achievement or anything that simply brings joy or happiness.
I’d go so far as to say all of us do, but since I don’t know everyone, I’ll stick with “You’re not alone.”
I love when I stumble upon a great, simple post that I just have to share, and today’s one of those days.
Here are some tips from Natalie Ledwell of Mind Movies, with a few tweaks from me, to help nudge you towards more success, and they apply to whatever “success” you seek:
Tip 1- Start Your Day Early and (or at least) Focus on Your Most Important Priorities First
Research shows that morning people tend to be more proactive and productive, but I know several night owls that do quite well. Whatever your sleeping habits, the most important thing is to make sure you allow yourself time to focus on your most important priorities first. Then, no matter what happens with the rest of the day, you can feel great about what you did accomplish.
Tip 2- Move Your Body!
Let’s face it, when we move and stretch our bodies, we instantly feel better. Movement triggers our body to release stress and endorphins. Successful people know this and they take their health seriously! Whether it’s taking a yoga class, hitting the gym or walking your dog, make sure you set aside some time each day to be active.
Tip 3- Make Time For Yourself And Your Loved Ones.
Successful people value the importance of setting aside some time for themselves, disconnecting from all technology and enjoying the activities they love most, like reading a book, listening to music or spending quality time with friends and family. This time is as valuable as working - it allows you to energize and replenish your mind and soul.
Tip 4- Take Ownership Of Your Own Happiness.
For successful people, happiness is a choice, not an external circumstance. They find joy in the simplest things in life - a smile, sunshine, a conversation. They tend to see the positive in every situation and treat life as the ultimate gift! So make the decision to be happy right now! :)
Tip 5- Plan ahead.
To maximize their potential, successful people map out their days, have short-term goals and they also hold a clear vision of what they want out of life!
Nothing weird or magical. It just takes perseverance to incorporate these small steps into your life in order to make a positive change.
If it sounds overwhelming, don’t stress out. You don’t need to follow all of the steps right away. Start by adding one at a time, and once it becomes a habit, add another.
